We have some great gigs coming up in 2022 & hope to create some similar scenes to this one.
We can’t wait to get out there, performing live once again. Our first show for 2022 will be a cracker; celebrating the great man himself, with his milestone 70th birthday – plus reminiscing about our past 30+ years.

As a special treat we’re excited to have **Emma Rodda** joining the band, for our celebration of **John Mellencamp’s 70th Birthday**, as well as our **’30th Anniversary’**. Emma is a Victorian College of the Arts graduate violinist. She has toured extensively and recorded with the Orchestra Victoria, Melbourne Opera Company, Ruckus (OZ), The Raga Dolls Salon Orchestra, Alan Zavod recording, Opera in the Alps orchestra, Southern-Cross Philharmonia-Orchestra and MSO recording sessions, Countdown, Hey Hey It’s Saturday orchestral performances, and many more. Emma was recently concert master for ‘Synthony’ a NZ live disco + orchestra show. She is sought after as a session player for album, film and television recordings. Emma currently is the Head of Strings at Wesley College Elsternwick. She is Lead violinist for Mike Brady and The Exciting McGillicuddies. Emma is a passionate musician and has furthered her creative explorations through improvisation. **Scarecrow** are very much looking forward to performing with Emma at **Chelsea Heights Hotel** for both celebrations – don’t miss this one!!

It will now take 32 years, to celebrate our 30 years; but we managed to get 2 unbelievable and unforgettable gigs over the line, at the Village Green Hotel in 2021. Let’s face it, we wouldn’t be here without him! What a privilege it’s been, to have performed John Mellencamp’s ditties live, for more than 30 years now. Thank you to all you music lovers, for being there with us, along this incredible journey. We will honour the great man himself, and celebrate his 70th Birthday. As a special treat, we’ll have violinist Emma Rodda joining us too, don’t miss this!

2 Celebrations rescheduled to 2022

Due to the current Melbourne restrictions in place & the ‘Road map’ suggested, our upcoming celebrations have sadly now been rescheduled to 2022. We hope things will be a bit more settled then & hope to get back to gigs as we knew them.

Therefore, John Mellencamp’s 70th Birthday celebration at The Heights Live, has now been rescheduled to Saturday 2nd April 2022. Then wrapping up our 30th Anniversary tour, our York On Lilydale show has been rescheduled to Saturday 25th June 2022.

All ticket holders have been notified by Oztix and have the option of moving with the shows to the new dates, or requesting a refund. Hang in there folks, stay safe & we look forward to seeing y’all on the other side…

With our 7th August gig being rescheduled, we’ve now got plenty to celebrate this October at Chelsea Heights. We’re not only continuing the celebrations for Scarecrow’s 30th Anniversary, but also now celebrating John Mellencamp’s 70th Birthday at the Heights Live!

John is one of the great American songwriters and a great rock spirit. We are forever grateful to him for his wonderful music and look forward to this special night, where we have the opportunity to honour the great man.

All ticket holders from the 7th August show have been notified of the rescheduling by Oztix and have the option of moving with the show to the new date, or requesting a refund. Tickets have once again been snapped up quickly for this one, so if you don’t have your tickets as yet, get on it!

Countdown is on! – Rock on May 1st

Not long now until we hit the stage at the Village Green Hotel on Saturday the 1st of May. We’d like to thank the venue for all they have done during these difficult times to help us prepare for Scarecrow’s 30th Anniversary.

We understand that quite a few of you have not been able to get tickets for this show and after the April 9th announcement that venues were going back to 100% capacity we were all hoping that more tickets would be available. Unfortunatley that’s not actually the case for Pubs and Clubs who are still operating under the square meter rule effectively limiting them to 30% capacity.

So in light of this I’m attaching a link to the Music Victoria explanation of just who is making these decisions. It’s certainly not the venues choice or fault to have these rules imposed on them as they too have done it very tough over the last 12+ months. We all need them and hope you can show your support by clicking on the link below and voicing your opinion to the right people to help us all get back to some sort of normalcy.
